EVERYDAY, TAKE YOUR TIME.
You're in your car and you arrive at a yellow light, do you speed up or slow down? If you speed up... why do you speed up? Is it to arrive to your destination a minute earlier? Does that really make any drastic difference?
This tip isn't a lesson in traffic signs, but more of a reflection as to why we want to get things done so fast instead of living life at our own pace. What is the rush? What is so important to do so quickly that we cannot even take our time and wait at a yellow light? What process are we trying to speed up? Don't most of us all end up going home to sleep and waking up the next day until we get old and eventually retire... Am I rushing to retire? HELL NO!
At first, I found myself speeding through the little things in life like I was being chased... whether it be driving or walking to my destination, reading books, listening to instrumentals(!), painting or even drinking my tea. But these are the simple things that I am suppose to enjoy, not take for granted. So what's the damn RUSH? I finally got to understand... there isn't any. We've all been brought up to put so much importance to time, but It's all illusion. It isn't real and to attain patience... well that's real! MASTER THE ART OF MOMENT.
Time responds to us depending on the way we view it... it could react like a snail to our impatience or it could literally speed like a cheetah when you're running late. In reality though, time dosen't change. Time remains the same... What you choose to do with your time affects your views on whether it is on your side or not. Don't place yourself in situations where you have to be rushed. Procrastination is for the people of tomorrow, and SOLAs are the people of today. As an artist, rush can be spotted in your work and that probably wont get you so far. Are you one of those that get mad just waiting for your subway? Dude just chiillllllll. If it's taking too long and youre running late, you should of just left earlier. Buhhh hey, while you're waiting, just grab a marker and let em know you were here. Ha!
There it is, my 9th lifestyle tip once again, just take your time. Living is an experience, it's THE ONLY experience. If you're taking the things you love doing for granted by rushing them, you don't love them enough and you aren't enjoying them. We created machines so that things could get done faster, so chill and let those machines do their jobs. We are human so we take our time. I'm not telling you to be a slow poke either, i'm just telling you to take a decent amount of time with the things you love doing and understand their importance.
