If you haven't treated your ears to the wonderful styles of The Illz yet, well let it be my utmost pleasure to introduce you to one of the few rappers who gives me hope that hip hop, may still in fact be alive. If you’ve always been checkin' my blog you already know this isn’t the first time I mention the ILLZ, but this one is a celebration!

Yesterday, New Jersey’s own, celebrated the 2 year anniversary of his first full length project titled The Pursuit LP, which was a project that was sort of a blessing in disguise to me. Randomly stumbled upon that tape and it instantly transformed into the therapeutic soundtrack to my long winter & summer nights, still is today. It’s that real shit, the kind you can feel.

He hits heart with his words of wisdom and his creativity. The main ingredients that attracted me about this project is his definite flow, but also his words constantly encouraging you to keep persisting in what you do. In addition, dude's got diversity with the beats. Not only is he rappin’ over hip hop joints but over other genres of instrumentals. Realness!

& it’s not like he’s talking shit either. The Illz is like that conscious wizard that uses rap as the medium of expression, so whenever you decide to take a break from the phony “hip hop” of today, pop in the Pursuit LP. Bet he never knew the many souls he would attain & inspire with that project, Much love & Congrats to Jerz' Illz.
