Viva The Protester

You know I am 100% down with this. 2011 has been a HELL of a year! Good and bad, crazy, mellow, psychotic and relaxed all conjoined into ONE. Indeed (as mentioned in the pic above) so much has gone down this year, from the Arab Spring to the Occupy movements and all other actualities that I wont depress you with. But, aside from what's been up worldwide.... How has 2011 treated you? & instead of writing out your impulse resolutions for the future, and immediately complaining that the past was horrible based on like 3 bad days (out of 365)... let's think of the past year for a minute and analyze it shall we?

You lookin' back with anger? With excitement? With joy? With regret? what have you achieved? & Don't be quick to say nothing, think it through. But if you really feel you haven't achieved anything, know that it's never too late... and what could be better than the starting line of a new year?

Personally, I cant complain, been an intense year, but the best year. Bad times, I can easily overlook with positive times. The year SOLA got to emerge. A year that was very very good to me as an artist and as a human and i'm gonna be quite sad to see it go. Ive evolved so much, learned so much and appreciated so much. I am definitely going to say goodbye to 2011 with a tear of sadness, but also welcome 2012 (grrr, if the so-called apocalypse doesn't happen) with a tear of joy. Because indeed a new year means a celebration of the on-going planet as well as a fresh start.

Also it is a celebration of us, as people and as a society. It's an achievement, yoooo weve been living on this earth for 2011+ years!!  We're continuously progressing with all that technology, communicating worldwide, making advancements in idk what and some of us are making better choices for ourselves. Im disregarding all other shit going on globally, but im hopeful, we'll grow and we'll progress. Truly, it's a beautiful thing.

And the best part of it all... Well, as cheesy as this sounds, it's that time where we all gather round with our loved ones and shout the 3-2-1. Even though I am the type to act all 2 cool 4 school and say I don't do it (haha) Im not gonna front, it still remains a lovely tradition and sometimes cheesy is good! Gettin together and appreciating who is in your life is important. So give it up people, for the planet, for living and of course for us!

Enjoy the remaining days left & approach every upcoming moment with those genuine feelings that make you feel good and happy. Life is too damn short for all this complaining and this negativity. Smiles are the definite salt you need to add to that recipe for a much more content, successful & flavorful life. Oui, viva la corny but it's TRUE.

Now, kick back, grab your thinking goggles, your champagne and create your resolutions (& stick to em!!) a resolution denotes a firm decision to DO something you lazy mofo's, not just to utter empty words...Remember that! The only reason why the protester is the human of the year to me is because in this ilfe we seem to be always fighting for something, and if you arent... well then maybe its time to start. If anyone is stopping you from living, then protest... and fight back. Always be true to you and everything you stand for.

So be happy, be healthy, be aware,BE SAFE, observe, wake up & make those dreams come true.

As for me, Ima do this til my absolute last breath. No Doubt. Thanks for readin' !

*Oh and Congrats to Shepard Fairey, for gracin a clever cover for the January issue of Times magazine above, once again.
