MIKE MING
Okay so this post is semi-art semi-fashion, another beautiful union (well, if treated with excessive care that is). Stumbled upon this guy through the homegirl Deidra! (There's your shoutout btw, lol) Ming collaborated with Ray Ban glasses for Sunglass Hut's artist series III, adding his unique brush style to the O.G. Wayfarers. With one unique carefully hand-painted design per frame, Mr. Ming (Queens born & now living in Brooklyn) succeeds over here at creating a one of a kind fantastic aura to the shades.
Currently, he uses water based mediums because of its fluid, chaotic, delicate and temperamental characteristics. He's got his own style, the circles, the dots, the splatters, the crazyness. Allow yourself to get carried away into his light & colorful world. When was the last time you got lost in someones artwork? If you need time to think about it, then it's been waaaay too long. Plus this guys isn't even a graffiti artist, yet i'm so attaracted to his work.
Finally! Someone gettin credit and recognition for doing something different. Mike claims he wants to create work that will eventually be a getaway to people's own personal freedom from the overwelming forces of reality. Could that be any more amazing & beautiful? I think not. Gotta love it. That's what art is suppose to do, carry you away from the shit reality throws upon you. Mike Ming is way too cool, he makes me feel all calm, zen & shit.
